We Each Talk About What We Wanna Talk

I was having a talk on the phone with my best friend... He has to stay indoors so I stress him daily... He said one thing today and, God damn it, he was right(and that does not happen too often with him)... Our talks are like talking to robots... or by ourselves as a matter of fact... We talk about what we want to talk, even if the other one listens... He talks about... erm... how he needs to scratch himself... I talk about Klaxons... Just about what I'ma do now...Suprize, surprize (cum era genericu' de la tanti Banica Jr.?)

First: something useless, but soooo fun.... Just click... and take a look at the cover boy...

Second: I have a fuzzy warm feeling that Klaxons (Mr. James I-look-like-a-Spanish-soap-opera-star-with-this-fake-tan Righton in particular) are the wrong kind of influence for young and naive people like Arctic Monkeys... (not that Dizzee Rascal would be safer...erm... so to say). Here is why....

The guy in the white suit is the Justice cover boy and, yes, James Righton ... guess who's the dragon... a rather pissed dragon, one might think...
You see, i'm just afraid little Turner will end up drink orange juice vodka all day and do popping pills like the klaxoning gang... and James is wearing a swan costume, just for the record...

Third thingy... well, actually two thingies... so that makes it 3 and 4... One from Klaxons and one from Monkeys....

The b-side off the new Klaxons single, It's not over yet (it's a cover, but can't remember the band who did the original...irrelevant anyway)

And Monkeys do it again...

Favourite Dream

Why now? Because I am finally ready to write something about this album that just haunts me ever since I got it… I still can’t explain why…. Yes, I am a huge Monkeys fan… and, hell yeah, I adore the new album… an album that sets off with “Brianstorm”, a strong, tight song that effortlessly leaves everyone breathless… In fact, the whole album is brilliantly tight and filled with energy: it’s the bass. And maybe the production, James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco. Prince Monkey’s lyrics are just as sharp/mikeskinner-scented on this album as they were on the first one: the kid’s got loads of talent and one can not deny it… ‘D is for danger’ and ‘This house is a circus’ are huge: the vocal part gives them their undeniable strength. “Balaclava”, “Teddy Picker”, “If you were there”, “The bad thing” and “Old yellow bricks” are reminders of the past song – because, all in all, the Monkeys did not change one bit. “Fluorescent adolescent” follows the line of stories about the hardship of adolescence in nowadays England. The slow-scented “Only Ones Who Know” is just as comforting as James Murphy’s “NY I Love You”. “Do me a favour” has some of Turner’s best lines – “to tear apart the ties that bond/perhaps ‘fuck off’ might be to kind”. The ending is monumental, probably my favourite song of the album: “505” has a great, fuzzy psychedelic feel, it’s the only song I can say is completely different from anything they ever did and its lyrics blow me away each time – “I’m always about to go and spoil a surprise, take my hands off of yr eyes too soon” and so on….Ladies and gentlemen, Arctic Monkeys are back….

O is for obsessed

nancy boyo: i am in love with 505 and d id for dangerous...
nancy boyo: i can't stop drooling at the sheer thought of those two tracks...
nancy boyo: and don't think i will any time soon
nancy boyo: and i can't explain why i love the new stuff so much...
nancy boyo: and i find that so very wrong...
Tina: :|
Tina: oh my.
nancy boyo: a review of the album written by me...that is out of the discusion...because i don't know what to say...that would sound even a bit credible.......
Tina.: maybe you could... publicly exorcise it? as in, make it your sts that you love it and hope it'll be a bad dream tomorrow?
nancy boyo: i tried...
nancy boyo: it's hopeless...

Yes, I tried... I'll try again... Well...I am aware things will go downhill if i do this...but... maaaaybe it'll work...So, hell... I love the new Arctic Monkeys album... I love it beyond words... I could listen to it on repeat for the rest of my life... However, i find no... erm... reasons why I love it so... I just know I do... actually, i'm not even sure I know... It's like a rollercoaster ride... or even better, the moshpit at a Klaxons gig... Katrina... enough comparing...so, i'll have to open up and confess that I am uncapable of saying something smart... no, saying something about it... I will just drool... excuse me, I must drool....
