Why do I HATE the so-called Ro punk acts of the likes of EMIL and PCC and Los Pogos…Because they are based on a stupid love for Green Day(it’s just like someone would make a band because they want to be like Borrell)…Because they are nothing like that punk I love…
How’s the punk I love? It belongs in Greenwich Village next to Warhol and Velvet….Its bands are either self-destructive (Velvet, Sex Pistols, Libertines, Nirvana, Joy Division) or try their best to resist as a band (Strokes, Interpol, Television). Because there is a clash of huge egos, at times too much drugs and alcohol involved…The punk I love is a form of art…It fits in any museum of modern art…It attacks yr senses…visual, auditive…It makes you feel you’re in some kind of physical danger…And you’re not getting alive out of it…It’s poetic…Poetry instead of lyrics as Morrissey and The Smiths imposed it…It’s sensible…it’s daring, you thought of it but never had the guts to say it…THAT way… It’s cultured and refined like Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand…It mixes all the instruments you would’ve never thought of like Win Butler and his Canadian gang do…Its guitars are whipping, its bass is dazzling just like Rakes love it so…It takes a bit of all those dubious stuff like French funk and rave and influences from William Burroughs (!!! ou peut-etre un peu de Klaxons)….It’s dark and gloomy and has reminiscences of Siouxsie and the Banshees….It’s a bleeding fashionista…Because punk without fashion would be nothing….It can be heavily influenced by electro(the likes of LCD Soundsystem, God bless his NY arse), it can be kitschy like the playlist from Studio 54(Oh, yeah…Rapture, baby) or it can just share the sassy attitude of funk(all you folks, take yr Gang Of Four cds from under yr pillows)….It’s image-bassed, because all punk bands used image to convey messages…whether it was a video or the clothes they wore or how they acted on stage…(and yes, to me, a dude wearing yucky Addidas shoes is NOT a punker…)…Most of the times, its bands have seriously studied an instrument or more…and if not, they graduated from something like Comparative Lit or Theatre….Beaux-Arts is even better…
What is it about? About all these things…Fuck the whole ‘punk is just about being yrself and doing what you like’ thingy…Imagine Rotten not wearing ripped clothes on stage…Or Doherty not listening to the manager of Libertines when she told them to write some tunes that resembled The Strokes’ music…ha…Most times, punk is about what you don’t like…or just not doing EXACTLY what you’d’ve wanted…
So allow yr little child to become a snobbish punker...even if you’re middle class and cultured…
How can those so-called punk acts be real punk…When their music conveys none of those things?…when they limit themselves to rambling about infantile subjects….?
So what they do it out of passion...That does NOT make it punk…And Warhol is still feeling uncomfortable in his grave…

Stii, nu e cazul sa faci pe desteappta, chiar nu-ti sta bine. Imi pare rau ca faci parte din grupul persoanelor ingamfate si atotstiutoare, sincer. Vad ca nu se poate povesti cu tine. Ai vorbit de punk, ti-am dat exemplu punk. Nu stiu cum sa-ti desenez si sa-ti explic cat de irelevanta e treaba cu "eu vorbeam de x si el imi zice de y". Daca aveai ceva sa imi spui, trebuia sa lasi ce ai scris. Atat aici cat si in mica ta "disputa" cu Andrei ai demonstrat ca stii sa vii cu multe argumente. Not. Chiar eram interesat sa vorbesc pe subiectul asta, sa vad si eu alte pareri si de ce cred unii (in acest caz, tu), ca punk'ul este asa sau invers.
Numa nah, ce sa-i faci, eu n-am loc de atata inteligenta si ingamfare ce mishuna pe'aici. Ma mir cum de mi-am permis sa comentez la acest articol .. tztztz, ce trist pot sa fiu ...

Well .. atunci numa tu stii de ce l-ai sters. In schimb, oricare ar fi motivul, a fost stupid. Sau nu. Si atunci inseamna ca nu mai inteleg eu democratia si rostul comment'urilor pe blog. Eu iti propun sa interzici comment'urile. Astfel nu mai pierzi vremea stergandu'le pe acelea care nu intra in categoria celor cu care ai fi de acord.
In legatura cu comentul de pe blogul meu: nu mi-i fri_ca ca_ o sa faci pe ingamfata. Stiu ca asa o sa faci. Mi-ai demonstrat-o aici. In fine, scuze ca ti-am perturbat lumea ta atat de perfecta si plina de atata incredere in sine. Partea cu "I'm so loving it" nu te face cu nimic mai interesanta. Au contraire. De fapt .. nu stiu de ce ma chinui sa mai scriu .. esti cum vrei, nu-s aici sa judec .. pentru ca oricum nu ai baga in seama .. si chiar daca as avea dreptate, tot ai refuza sa vezi asta. ah...si vroiam sa zic ceva despre Exploited...eu nu prea ii consider pe Exploited a worthy 'punk' act.Sunt un hardcore usor (mtvizat) neinteresant si "ne-inteligent"..Nu am nimic cu hardcore-punk...Ba chiar, a mon avis, several hardcore bands au un rafinament liric de invidiat(Dead Kennedys, spre exemplu....sau At The Drive-In, Fugazi)...But that is something else...
